Huipil

Linguistic community : Poqomam

The two cloth panels that make up this garment were sewn together by hand. Both parts feature stripes made with supplementary weft brocades that have geometric designs woven in horizontal rows, which are characteristic of the simple styles worn in the past. They alternate with figures made using the jaspe (ikat) technique, which make the huipil more attractive.
